Everybody has heard that Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus. Occassionally it is not difficult to assume that men and women are so entirely unlike. Women repeatedly moan that their husbands never listen to them. Men regularly repeat that women are too complicated that they would never manage to understand their behaviour.

Sometimes, I also believe in these stereotypes. However, deep inside I sincerely believe they are false. And lately I experienced small, seemingly meaningless situation that showed me even more that men and women are very similar. And I would like to share it with you.

Last month I have spent the whole weekend repairing my favourite shoes and clothes, including my favourite skirt and jacket. Nearly all my clothes are extremely delicate. So, I do wash them by hand so they won’t get faded.

Furthermore, I have spent a lot of time changing small details of my clothes with the sewing machine. After that, I made sure that all of my shoes are entirely clean and shiny. I polished them over 3 hours! Can you imagine it? Right after my husband came home and saw that I was still taking care of my clothes, he couldn’t believe this! He made fun at me that I spend entire day on so boring activity. That wouldn’t be so strange if you consider that he wouldn’t even iron his shirt.

Last week my husband went for a business trip to NYC. When he returned I asked him how he had spent a free Sunday. He just answered with the words “vinyl wraps nyc”. I didn’t know what he was talking about. It turned out that it was nothing else than changing the colour and general look of his car. As a woman, I could not think of the worst plan for the weekend. But when I saw my husband’s joy , I realized how much similar we are.
